Starting tomorrow, 7 May, a new Archeoboat service will link Rome with the archaeological Park of the imperial ports of Claudius and Trajan

As and from Saturday 7 May, 2016, Archeoboat, the river boat service will start linking Rome and Fiumicino, across the archaeological Park of the imperial ports of Claudius and Trajan. Every weekend, locals and tourists will have the chance to travel by boat on the River Tiber to reach and visit the only Roman harbour which can still be admired today. An invitation to enjoy a ride along the river and discover the area and its historical, cultural and natural heritage, in an original and environment-friendly way.
Promoted by the Fiumicino City Council, the initiative goes to join the other proposals of the Navigare il Territorio (Navigate the Territory) project which, thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche (Benetton Study Research Foundation), Aeroporti di Roma (Rome Airports) and the Soprintendenza speciale per il Colosseo e l’Area archeologica Centrale di Roma (Special Superintendence for the Coliseum and the Central archaeological area of Rome).
The Archeoboat service operates every Saturday and Sunday with the following timetable:
• 9.30 am departure from Rome – Ponte Marconi
about 11.30 am arrival at Trajan Port Fiumicino
about 12 noon arrival at Fiumicino centre

• 3 pm excursion on the Tiber with departure from Fiumicino centre and back at about 4.30 pm with stop at Trajan Port – booking required +39.339.2995366

• 4.30 pm Archeoboat departs from Fiumicino Centre – 4.45 pm Trajan Port; about 6.30 pm arrival in Rome – Ponte Marconi – booking required +39.339.2995366 – Alternatively, the return trip can be made by shuttle service departing from Fiumicino centre and arriving at Ponte Marconi (the trip takes about 1 hour)
